Power of Regenerative Medicine

Cells are the smallest functional unit of organism, with about 37 trillion in our human body.

It is also the building blocks of life and has the ability to replicate and differentiate into specialized cells with specific function to regenerate and repair deficient cells.

Cell therapy is a purely biological, natural, and safe therapy that has proven for decades to be effective in clinical applications. In modern medicine, chemicals and drugs work when they are broken down by our own body’s metabolic process; while cell therapy stimulates the body’s own healing and revitalizing powers and therefore has a long-term effect. It not only treats the symptoms but also successfully treats the root cause.

Cell therapy is a field of regenerative medicine based on stimulating own body’s self-healing, activating, and repairing intra- and extracellular molecular energy production. It has been applied successfully for the prevention of physical and mental degeneration, to regenerate internally and externally. It has been used as well to treat a wide variety of conditions ranging from birth and genetic defects in children to many chronic degenerative conditions, such as diabetes, strokes, heart failure, and neurodegenerative disorders.

History

1. Eber Papyrus of Medicine
Organ extract cell therapy dates back thousands of years. Written in 1600 B.C., it recommended injection of animal organs to improve human vitality.

2. Paracelsus
The basic theory behind cell therapy was propounded almost 500 years ago (16^th century) when Paracelsus best described it as “likes heals like”. Thus “heart heals heart, lung heals lung, and spleen heals spleen; like cures like”.

3. Dr. Alexis Carrel
In the late 19^th century, this French Nobel laureate discovered the potentially immortal nature of cells. He was able to keep alive fragments of a chicken heart for 25 years after the fowl had died by combining cellular material from different hearts into his cell culture.

4. Dr. Charles-Edward Brown-Sequard
1817–1894: Dr Charles-Edward Brown-Séquard injected animal testicle extracts to stop the effects of aging. It’s well known as Brown-Séquard Elixir.

5. Vladimir Filatov
In 1920’s, Russian ophthalmologist Vladimir Filatov initiate extract therapies for non-specific rejuvenation of chronically ill patients. His earliest claimed successes were in reversing retinitis pigmentosa and involutional retinal macular degeneration.

6. Prof Dr Paul Niehans
In 1931, Dr Paul Niehans saved the life of a woman in Montreux, Switzerland by using cell therapy. After a surgical malpractice from a colleague who injured the parathyroid glands, Prof. Niehans injected by intramuscular technique a solution containing calf parathyroid cells. The patient recovered well and remained healthy for than 25 years without any ailments.

Prof. Niehans applied his discoveries in cellular therapy over 50,000 times. Charles Chaplin, Robert Cummings, Joan Crawford, Charles de Gaulle, Dwight and Marnie Eisenhower, Winston Churchill, Charles Boyer, Bernard Baruch, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Joseph Kennedy. In 1953, the dying Pope Pius XII. in gratitude for successful cell therapy, Niehans was invited to become a member of the Papal Academy of Sciences.

This launched the Western revolution in Cell Therapy. Extensive research and works into the 1960’s, publishing extensively, but only interrupted by World War II. His major opus on theory and practice of cellular therapy was published in German in 1954.

How does it work?

Homing Principle
In cell therapy, the word "homing" describes cells' ability to find their destination, or "niche". The mechanism of cell therapy is its ability to target specific organ due to intrinsic homing capabilities. During administration, cells migrate to the organ of their origin by signaling molecules that cause recruitment, proliferation, migration, and differentiation of progenitor cells.

1999 Nobel Prize winner for Medicine of Rockefeller University (NY), Professor Günter Blobel, discovered the signal built-in peptides (“address tag” / “zip code”), which control the transport of proteins and define the exact location of these proteins within the cells of particular organs regardless of species. Proof enough that this phenomenon is NOT SPECIES-specific but ORGAN-specific.

Systemic homing is a multistep process governed by specific molecular interactions. "The process of systemic homing can be split into five steps: (1) tethering and rolling, (2) activation, (3) arrest, (4) transmigration or diapedesis, and (5) migration".

‍Differentiation
Cell differentiation is known as a process in which cells become more specialized in terms of function. Cell differentiation is an essential process for the development, growth, reproduction, and longevity of all cellular organisms. Without cell differentiation, long-term organ survival would be impossible.

The stage at which cell differentiation starts is the third week after fertilization. All cells start from embryonic stem cells, which are undifferentiated. Through the process of embryonic development these cells start to express tissue-specific proteins and become highly specialized. Some examples of cell differentiation are stem cells turning into neurons, osteocytes or cardiomyocytes; and become more specialized cells into brain, bone or heart cells.
